Event results
The NZ Cross Country Champs returned to the Chisolm Links golf course in Dunedin - this year as a full championship event instead of last year's challenge event, held while Auckland was in a Covid level 3 lock down.
Chisholm Links is a sandy course (i.e. mud free) - demanding with a few steep pinches, both ascents and descents. The day was chilly: about 6 degrees with a strong southerly, and the occasional rain and hail shower blowing across the course.
Olympic sent eight members; individual highlights include Will Anthony, who followed up his convincing win last year in the MU18 grade with an even more convincing win in the MU20 grade (a margin of 59 seconds), Susannah Lynch (4th in SW) and Angela Clark (3rd in the W50-54 grade).
In the teams, Wellington won gold in the W50+ (Angela and Michelle) and SW (Susannah), and silver in the M50-64.
