Great weather and good numbers meant that the colour of a harriers event was all the more vivid at Trentham Memorial Park yesterday for the running of this years Dorne Cup.

Olympic fielded a team of 96 runners over the various grades with 17 in the 9 and under grades, 16 in the Senior Mens race and 23 in the Masters race.

With the seniors and the masters combined the field for the glamour final event looked as it may have done in the past. Looking at the start line it was pleasing to see the river of black singlets matching the yellow of scottish almost man for man. it was a fine sight and made me a little nervous about that first corner, but it was all good and the event lived up to it's rating as one of the best on the calendar.
