Registrations open for Children's Athletics 10 Sep 2015.

Registrations are now open for Children's Athletics (Olympic Junior Track and Field) 2015/16 season.

Registrations

Sign up on line:  https://memberdesq.imgstg.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=main&OrgID=10499 or come to our registration day on Sunday 20 September at our Alex Moore Park Clubrooms, between 2pm and 4pm.

Come along to our registration day if you want to order uniforms or ask any questions about the club. If you have any uniforms or shoes you'd like to sell second hand or donate to the club please contact Helen Carr who is looking after the second hand gear again. It would be great to have this for the registration day. Her details are on the calendar link below.

You have until the 18th of October to register online.  The first club night is the Monday 2 November but you'll need to enter by the 18th of October so we can plan our club programme around the numbers who register. Please don't wait until the last minute as we need to work out coaching stations/volunteers/equipment based on the numbers we get.

You will be able to enter and pay by credit card or internet banking when you register online. At our registration day we won't have EFT-POS so it will be cheque or cash only.

Club nights

Our athletics club is based at Grenada North Park over the summer.  Our club nights for 3 to 14 year olds starts on Monday 2 November from 5.30pm to 6.45pm (or 6.30pm for the Under 7s) - check out the calendar link below.

Extra training and coaching

A range of training options are also available pre-season and throughout the season for all age groups including college and uni students. And adults too! These are held on other week day afternoons/evenings.

Important Links

More info for the athletics season is included on the links below:

(Please note there is need for your child to wear a uniform on our club nights - it's only if they want to. For the junior interclubs they will need to wear black shorts and the Olympic singlet or dry gear t-shirt)

Please feel free to forward this info to others you know who might be keen to join up this season. Or refer them to our juniors website – www.olympicjuniors.nz.

We are also keen to hear from anyone who would like to get more involved with helping this year including running any stations on club nights. The more the merrier!

Help at club nights

To operate the club and club nights the children need your help. The more volunteers we have the better it is for the kids, for the club and for those who do offer to help out.

TRAINING FOR PARENTS – VOLUNTEERS
There are a number of training opportunities for parents/volunteers prior to the start of the season (see below). The club will cover the cost of these so please let us know if you'd like to attend any of them. If you have a child in the Under 7 group then it's a great opportunity to come along to either one of the Get Set Go courses. They only last for 2 hours and you can bring your kids as well. For those with children in the 7 and older groups the Run Jump Throw or IAAF Kids Athletics Courses are ideal for you.

  • IAAF Kids Athletics Course, Saturday 12 September, Newlands Intermediate from 9am to 5pm
  • Run Jump Throw Course Sunday 18 from 9am to 4pm at Newtown Park
  • Run Jump Throw Course Sunday 25 October at Newtown Park from 9am to 4pm
  • Get Set Go Course Sunday 20 September at Lyndhurst Park, Tawa from 10am to 12pm
  • Get Set Go Course Sunday 11 October at the Hutt Recreation Ground from 10am to 12pm
