Club pack run/walk from Clubrooms – Sat 1 August, 1:45pm

Wow, August already and what better time to get together for a run from our home base?

Missing from the throng this week will be Olympic's contribution to Wellington team running the cross-country Nationals in Christchurch.  Go hard and go well to: Under 18s Michaela Walker, Phoebe van Boheemen and Seamus Kane; Senior Women Jo Crawford; Masters Women Michelle Van Looy; and Masters Men Kevin Pugh.

BAYS RELAY TIME – SATURDAY 8 AUGUST

The Bays Relay is just around the corner.  There are 5 in each team, with each lap being between 4 and 5 km starting at Island Bay and finishing at Evans Bay Parade.  Info is on the Athletics Wellington website at http://www.athleticswellington.org.nz/News/bays-relay-info-for-saturday-8-august.

Juniors and women have made good progress with their teams, but the men need to get their skates on.  If you want to run please contact the relevant person ASAP – would be great if we can get this sorted this week.
 

Reminder to complete Survey Monkey

It takes a lot of work and planning to deliver the races and training that the club offers.  Members are asked to help out the Committee by filling in this 10 minute questionnaire – it's a great way for those running the club to get the views of those running for the club.

Wellington Road Champs and Club Road Champs – save the date – Saturday 22 August in Wainuiomata

Doubles as both Wellington Champs and Club Champs.  We are going to have medals again for the road champs (like we did for cross country), but we are going to hand these out at the Philp Shield (club event) on Saturday 12 September with an afternoon tea after that event. 

National Road Relays are coming up in Christchurch on 3 Oct 

It is the 75th anniversary and it is a blast running from the edge of town over the Port Hills to Akaroa.  We have accommodation lined up but the places are not unlimited – contact Brian Rusbridge Brian.Rusbridge@nzct.org.nz to sort things out. Start looking for flights now – there is as much competition in finding the cheapest flight as there is in the race itself!
