Athletics Wellington's new timing chip system is now up and running! 11 May 2011.
From the 21st of May, you must wear a timing chip to every Athletics Wellington inter-club race to have your result recorded. Pick yours up from Malcolm before the 21st.
Every member of a club in Wellington has been allocated a timing chip, or transponder. Starting with the Vosseler on the 21st, everyone must wear their chip at every Athletics Wellington inter-club race. If you don't wear a chip, or if you don't pay your sub, then your result won't be recorded. You do not have to wear them to the national races or to club races.
This timing chip is yours and you keep it for every year you are a member. It gets reactivated every year when you sign up with the club again. Please look after it: if you lose it, you will be asked to pay for a replacement. If you leave it at home, you will need to rent a replacement for the day. (Athletics Wellington charges a fee for replacements and on-the-day rentals which we will pass on.)
Your chip will be available to pick up from Malcolm this Saturday at the clubrooms, at training on Tuesday, or from Malcolm's stand-in before the Vosseler. If you're not going to run the Vosseler then pick your chip up some time before your next race.
