Childrens' athletics and junior summer junior training programme 6 Sep 2009.

Details for our 2009/10 summer programmes for juniors are now available:

Childrens’ athletics

Childrens’ athletics is a Monday night track and field programme for 5 to 14 year olds designed to teach kids basic running, jumping and throwing skills. The programme starts on Monday 19 October with registration at our clubrooms on Sunday 11 October between 2pm and 4pm.

Note this summer we are moving up the road to Grenada North Park which gives us more room than we currently have at Alex Moore Park. We will be able to have a 6-lane 300m track marked out which will allow us to cater for more running events.

Junior summer training programme

For junior runners aged 10 and over, Alistair Leslie continues his training programme over summer.

This is designed for members who want to build a base fitness for next winter’s harriers, who want extra training for the summer Athletics Wellington programme, or who want to keep fit over summer for running or other sports.

Starting in the week of 5 October 12 October, training sessions are held on Tuesday afternoons at Tawa College, Thursday afternoons at Grenada North Park, and Saturday mornings at Aotea Lagoon (or as otherwise notified).
