Taupo Bound - update 29 Jun 2016; updated 30 Jun 2016.
North Island Cross Country Championships, Saturday 2 July, Taupo
Just a couple of days away from the trip north for many members - start packaging any cares from the work or study week ready to leave them at the door as you depart on Friday.
The option for those staying in wellington has changed from the first posting...
For those who cannot make it up to Taupo, pop along to the Porirua Park run (Bothamley Park 8 am on Saturday) for their 3 year anniversary. Wear your Olympic kit if you can, although I think there is a "Where's Wally" theme too. It is a 5 km run or walk and you can participate in the celebration afterwards including a BBQ with vegetarian options. https://www.parkrun.co.nz/porirua/ The Olympic clubrooms will not be open on Sat afternoon.
Wellington Marathon Event last Sunday
A good spread of Olympic competitors across the different distances and a heap of PB's from young and old. Carrying on that theme, Kevin Pugh came home first overall in the 5k race, pushed hard by Josh Jordan from Trentham at 12(?) years old. Also on the age group podium were Meredith Ogilvie and Nuula Dunne in the 10 k, and Michelle van Looy in the half.
