Summer run/walk from the Clubrooms,  20 February, 1:45pm
Likely to be a select group for this Saturday as a group of regulars are away to Taupo for the Round the Lake Relay, and others are targetting one of the distances in the Around the Bays event on Sunday.  Be aware access to the clubrooms requires someone with a key....

 

Alex Moore Development - Community meeting 
Just a couple of Olympic members at the meeting last week to discuss development of the gym complex (and removal of existing clubrooms).  Money is secured from a number of sources and, although there is still some to raise, they are at the point of getting more detailed plans so that they can actually approach people for quotes on well specified drawings.  Point was made that the consents limit the total foor area so adding any features pretty much means scaling back on something else.  There are hopes of breaking the ground in the next 12 months.   Mention was made of the successful Papakura(I think?) Around Rarotonga Race
Miles and Sheryne have done the hard yards and chased down a good price for travel and accomodation.  The chance of cheaper fares closer to the day is balanced off against not getting into the hosting resort at Shearwater.  Do you you feel lucky... well do you...?  Contact Natalia McAllansmith at Flight Centre North City, 2374477, and you should be able to get the same kind of deal.  

The Round Rarotonga Road Race celebrates its 39th Anniversary with its annual weeklong event from the 22-28 September 2016 held on the beautiful tropical island of Rarotonga. The event caters for everyone including families, social, recreational and competitive runners and is a fantastic opportunity to combine a holiday with a once in a lifetime sporting achievement.
