Summer Run/Walk - get a different view of Kaukau 7 Jan 2016.

Butterfly Creek run/walk, meet at Eastbourne Pier, 09 January, 1:45pm
Last week was a shemozole with three different starting points evenly spaced around the Zealandia loop, but a hardy bunch kind of got there in the end...  This week  we can do better, all meeting at the pier at Eastborne (pool is there too).  The run has a bit of climbing in it - with views back across the harbour - but pretty easy otherwise.  About 10km, with options for walkers to nip back sooner if they want to.

Colgate Games
Good luck to 49 of our junior Olympic members aged from 7 to 14 years of age who are heading to Palmerston North for the North Island Colgate Games from Friday 8 to Sunday 10 January.  The following weekend we have another 7 members travelling to Nelson for the South Island Colgate Games.  This is one of the biggest events on the Athletics NZ calendar with over 1000 kids competing over the three days from all around the country.

Black and Gold Meets - Olympic registration number now required
For the Black and Gold Meets taking place over the remainder of the season, all those competing need a five digit code allocated to them by the club. I have allocated numbers already for all those who have competed on the track so far this summer.  If anyone else is planning to take part can they please contact Jo on johannamurraynz@gmail.com or 021 976116 and I'll make sure they're registered in the Olympic Harrier and Athletic Club database with their number.  Anyone up to the age of 15 has already been allocated a number for junior interclubs starting with '88' followed by three digits.  The same number can be used if they are also competing at the Black and Gold Meets.  These meets are for college age, seniors and masters.  We'd love to get more members down to the track so if you think you might give it a go contact Jo now.  Note that these numbers are not the same as those on the winter season timing chip.
